Carapace explores the tension between the intimidating and the protective. Inspired by oceanic creatures, shells, skeletal systems, and Calatrava’s expressive structures, its imposing, organic form contrasts big cities' rigid urban geometry while enclosing a place to rest and be present. Conceived as a structure that feels discovered rather than designed, it offers a naturally ventilated shelter from the city’s intensity, a third space inviting people to pause, slow down, and find some stillness within constant motion.
